The Inclusive Society Institute (ISI) is part of the Global South Perspectives on Global Governance Reform Network, which gathers international affairs, sustainability and communication experts from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East. The network is a collaborative initiative by the Foundation for Global Governance and Sustainability (FOGGS), based in Brussels, Belgium, and the research group Humanitarian Journalism and Media Interventions (HumanizaCom) of the Methodist University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Network is currently undertaking in-depth research into the main non-military threats facing the Global South, such as economic, social, environmental, technological, and health crises. Additionally, it is considering proposals related to the reform of the United Nations (UN) and the future of multilateralism. The research outcomes will be released at an event in New York on 15 September 2023.
To this end, the ISI hosted a focus group with African experts on 27 July 2023. Delegates were drawn from academia, policy think-tanks and experts, the diplomatic corps, the political establishment, media experts, business and civil society. South Africa, Tanzania, South Sudan, Algeria and Senegal were represented.
